SPECIAL NEWS

We have a Female Burmese (retired breeding Queen) just 4 yrs old available to a caring INDOOR ONLY home.  She will be available beg. January 2012.

If you have been considering a Burmese to join your family but are unsure if you wish to go through the ‘kitten stage’ then an adult Burmese could just suit you.

She will be a little shy to begin with and will prefer no other pets or children. As she has been a ‘working girl’ she will love to be a ‘snuggle bum’ on the end of the bed or in your lap and is she is very affectionate.

She has been a totally indoor cat during her life and will be disorientated and confused if she is let outside, however it would be ideal for her to have an outdoor run.  The new owner adopting her MUST be able to keep her vaccinations up to date, keep her flea & worm free, & get vet care if & when necessary. She will come fully vaccinated, desexed, micro chipped, health checked & flea & worm free.

There is a nominal fee to cover the desexing costs.  If you are interested in an adult pedigree cat to join you in your home, please make contact to come and meet our girl.

Genuine enquiries welcome on 0418 214 201.

When our kittens are relocated to their new homes we are always sad to see the little guys leave as they have given us such pleasure and entertainment and become such an important part of our lives over the short period they are with us.

We are however happy that they can now give such pleasure to their new owners.

Kitten Transportation

We are happy to arrange transportation for your new kitten (at your expense) if circumstances do not permit you to collect him.  We pride ourselves by going that extra mile to make sure your kitten has all his comforts for his trip, whether it be by car or plane.   Please feel free to contact us to discuss this further.

FAUBOURG BURMESE kittens are born and raised in our home with lots of love and attention.

They become accustomed to daily household routines and sounds, such as vacuum cleaners, TV, music etc, which in turn settles them into their new homes easier. They are also socialised with other kittens and older cats.

Our kittens go to their new home with:

·        Kitten Care pack which includes information on care of your new kitten

·        Vaccination certificate

·        Pet Insurance – this is offered free of charge for the first 6 weeks to the new owners, by PET PLAN.  New owners should consider taking out this pet health insurance to assist if at any time they are to encounter expensive veterinary bills  www.petplan.com.au

·        Re-homing toys

Our kittens are litter box trained, Vaccinated, Wormed and Vet checked prior to relocating to their new homes.

It is a condition of sale that FAUBOURG BURMESE kittens are desexed before the age of 6 months.  A copy of the Vet Certified desexing certificate is required to be forwarded to us to confirm this has been carried out.

           Bringing  Your  New  Kitten  Home

When you first bring your new kitten to its new home, it will quite likely appear scared and disorientated.

Up until now it has been with the other members of the litter (its family) with familiar smells and sounds of the house.

To make the transition easy on both ‘him’ and you I suggest the following:

  • As soon as you arrive home, show the kitten where the litter tray is and confine them initially to a small area, then gradually allow them more freedom as they become accustomed to your home.
  • Especially for the first few nights sleep your new kitten in a small room such as the laundry, with its cat cage/basket/box. (Children may want to sleep with and ‘comfort’ the kitten but can so easily roll and squash the kittens little bones.)
  • A hot water bottle for warmth is nice for the first few nights as up until now he has slept with the warmth of his litter mates.
  • Make sure the litter tray is available as our kittens come to you fully litter trained.
  • Maybe leave the light on / have a clock radio type going quietly for noise so it does not feel it is alone.
  • Have food and water available at all times.

This way the kitten gains what appears to it to be ‘its’ space and has time to quietly adjust to its new home.

Always be aware of your ‘little fella’ in the house especially for the first few weeks, as his little feet/legs are easily squashed by our big feet, or by pushing chairs backwards, or opening doors with them behind etc.

What You Will Need for your New Kitten

Cat Carry Cage – especially for taking it home and also for his Vet visits

Blanket/towel to make it snug and warm

Hot Water bottle if it is cold

Litter Tray

Litter – When very young the kittens require a ‘digestable’ litter as they are not sure what they can/cannot eat. We use ‘Macs” Litter - it is a Rice type and safe with little kittens.

By the time they come to live with you they should be starting to be familiar with using coarser litter.

Litter Poopa-scoopa (makes cleaning the litter tray easy)

Water Bowl

Food and Biscuit Bowls

Toys

Scratching Pole (to save your furniture)

Cat fun tunnel

Our kittens have food available at all times and always appear to be hungry little guys. Once they become cats they can be trained to feed twice a day.

It is not recommended to give Burmese cats milk to drink

Fresh water must be available at all times.

Our kittens are fed a high quality diet of fresh and tinned meats and kitten biscuits.

Eg. Fresh minced beef
"Fancy Feast" tinned Kitten food
"Whiskas" kitten sachets
Cooked diced chicken and fish
Grated Cheese
Kitten Biscuits eg. Advance
Fresh Water always available
As they get older you will introduce and feed them according to what you feel they want.

Your new adopted kitten comes to you with:

* 1st Vaccination ( 2nd is required 4 weeks after date of the 1st, and the 3rd (final) is four weeks later)
* Fully vet checked
* Wormed
* Registration and Pedigree Papers - these will be forwarded on receipt of the Veterinarian de-sexing certification for the kitten.

If you have any concerns or queries regarding your new kitten, at any time, we ask that you please do not hesitate to call me – I am happy to advise you regarding any problems you may have.

Once you are home and settled with your kitten I would love you to call me to let me know how your kitten is settling in.

We would also love any photos you may wish to send/email us from time to time.

We hope that your new kitten brings as much pleasure and as many laughs to you as we have had in the rearing
of it.
